Yes, my mom is one good example! Pitied my dad having to endure her fiery temper all these years. Generally, I can get along better with Fujian and Shenyang meis. This fiery Hubei mei is getting too hot for me to handle!

Lumphun, Mae Sai and even Mai Sot are very nice places for retirement indeed, not so commercialised like Chiangmai and Chiangrai, IMHO. Commercial sex is also cheaper with many SYT Burmese variety at Mae Sai and Mae Sot. I'm sure tabao services are very common in such cafes nowadays.
