otherwise, if u believe others to be "stalking" u? then wouldnt make any sense to be posting in a open forum.... would make better sense to be posting your own blog & disabling comments/reply from readers. Quote:

the best part is when u even stood firm that 2 is spelt SWANG. kindergarten or nursery or elementary.. its all fundamentals. i dont see our kindergartens teaching kids to spell: A for APPER (apple), B for BOR (ball), C for Caet (Cat)...etc. since its fundamentals, then all the more need to ensure that its imparted correctly. i find i've a reliable source (from the dictionary) to share, so what's stopping me from sharing? just as others feel they had a gd bonk, n they like to share their sexperience... i see it as perfectly acceptable. on the contrary, since you boldly stood your claim that SWANG was acceptable, i'm curious how you actually pronounce SWANG? pronounced as in 爽 or 双?

I'll answer your post out of courtesy but I don't think I want to dwell on this issue anymore as it is already taking the "objective" of this thread away which I don't think fellow brothers want. Already the lessons ended just as it started with only 1 to 10 being taught. Hopefully, those in the know, can continue to "teach" those who are interested. Now in answering your post. I posted because I want to share with fellow brothers here. I enjoy the healthy exchanges of information, ideas, opinions, etc. Just because a person who have been using a friend's ID to read through the forums, and now decided to partake in the forums doesn't mean that he is doing so for the "rep" points. Just because a person has the time to post, doesn't mean that he is looking out for rep points when he posted more than others. I appreciated the rep points given to me and I acknowledged it as a "feel good" factor. But I don't live by it. I don't ask for points to be exchanged although I repaid and will repay the samsters who have rewarded me. And I don't make a fuss on my rep points being deducted as I know I can't please everyone. Moreover, it doesn't hurt me one tiny bit at all. I post on topics that interest me and topics that I feel that I have some say just as you post wherever you want to. If what I have posted is considered an influx, maybe there should be a guideline as to how many posts a newbie should put in a day, when it can be increased, etc so that anything above that is considered an influx. Bette still, maybe get Sammyboy to have a mechanism in this forum to automatically "lock" out after so many posts. I guess I've written too much here, and am becoming a guilty party against what I am advocating, which is to let this thread remain focus in its topic. So I'll not be replying to extend this irrelevant side discussion anymore more. My 2 cents worth. |

write dictionary not for publishing then write for what? for fun? substitute for newspaper reading in the toilet? waste paper, waste ink? LOL... you think publishing is as simple a transaction as u walking into cat40 hse ah? editor must read & discern 1st before they give green light to publish... mind you, publishers are paid commission from the gross retail... followed by author getting their returns from the books sold. dont know anything about publishing wanna pretend you know; just pay a publisher... LOL....

JNYW corrected the error. He just corrected spelling for 2. No one see anything wrong with that. However, you have to be "gay kiang" and corrected the spelling from 1 to 10 and added the intonation too. What's is the point of that? When people tell you not to be too "gay kiang" u simply cannot take it and still insist that you are correct and cannot accept other's point of view. |

Maybe you should expand and explain the difference so that readers can understand more or why. For example when the word "liao" is used with "saang", it would mean "already ordered" and the word "yang" means "not". So if someone were to asked us whether we have ordered with "saang reu yang ka", we can actually answered "saang liao" if ordered, or "yang" if haven't ordered. Also, I think it is good to also note that many Thais in their everyday conversation normally don't pronounce the letter "R" so sometimes we would hear the waitress asking "saang ler yang ka". Just like when the right way is "krup", many would be saying "kup" with some adding A Cup, B Cup or C Cup. My 2 cents worth. ![]() |
