Six women charged over incident at Cathay Orchard Cineleisure

SINGAPORE - Five women were charged on Friday with rioting while a sixth was accused of causing hurt to a teen at a karaoke lounge at Cathay Cineleisure Orchard. Singaporean Ding Jiao, 28, and Chinese nationals Qiu Zhulin, 28, Liu Jiabao, 30, Wu Huamin, 18, and Wang Xi, 23, were allegedly part of an unlawful assembly whose common object was to cause hurt to Ms Zheng Lu, 19, at K Box at the Grange Road mall at about 2.15am on May 3. Wang faces a second charge of kicking and punching Ms Zheng with Wu Huachun, 19, also a Chinese national, at K Box at about 11.15pm the previous day. All six, represented by two lawyers, had their police bail extended and were told not to approach the victim. The prosecution successfully applied for the case to be adjourned for the investigation officer to complete investigation and to consult the Attorney-General's Chambers. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for July 21. - See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/sin....SZrhS7UK.dpuf
