so I just got into a new company and there is this colleague who I think is quite pretty but our depts have no link so no chance to communicate.
so one day after work there's only me and her at the lift lobby and I was replying msg on phone. she suddenly asked for my name nicely and I just said my name (two words reply) then seeing I am not saying anything else she introduced herself and I only replied oh hello. then the lift came and we went in without talking anymore then left the building in separate way.
so now I'm being mindfucked whether she's keen in knowing me or just being friendly to a new colleague -_-
pls feel free to comment. advice much appreciated.

She could be just being polite or may be keen to know you better, but you just let the chance slip by. She already initiate contact with self intro, but your lackluster response could have turned her off.

Hope you get another opportunity again, this time better follow up promptly and exchange numbers already. You never know, could be having a time of your life with banging her soon!

She maybe be very turn off by your action, or non actions....
You might be afraid that it might effect your job and all...

Well I was new once and everyone in the office said hi and stuffs..even colleagues from different departments and different floors..but I am a girl lah so haha it's a bit different.

My suggestion... don't be too distant & don't be too friendly. Just match her level of friendliness... so you would not come across as arrogant/proud... or overly interested .
