My two cents' worth.
Not a frequent flyer on Japanese airlines but on SQ. Basically, a shirt and pants or jeans will suffice. A good option is wrinkle free soft cotton shirts and flat front pants/jeans.
Normally, i take the red-eye to Tokyo, so basically will be sleeping throughout. You get more luck on the longer haul sectors, more so in Business or First.
