Those who married PRC, mind to share your experience? Is it more positive than negative? Are there differences too big to close up or compromise? Do the values align?

Preferably not one that work in certain industry before, like ktv, FL, ml etc.

Like those u met outside, friends friends. Drinking places, when u travel in china etc.

I know some who asked for 300,000 or 500,000rmb. Actually this amount is not huge but it is a large amount for dowry. I think when I got married, my parents asked for only $20k or something like that. Really have to thank them

So you are buying or what? Everyone is different, if you heng your PRC wife will be solid good always put you in front of her. If you suay suay pick a rotten apple, then that's it. Not all PRC girls are bad or negative, same for others countries, there are always good and bad. You should experience it yourself then asking around. You have your own taste also.

Actually ,everywhere ,asking for 10k onwards is greedy like selling daughter, just get a dowry of 888 is good enough. Cos married off must think of starting a family, greed in humans

I agree with you buddy.. it all comes to family teaching..

i married my wife and although my in laws says S$8888 + golds / dowries, that was just for the superficial ceremony. my in laws actually return it back to me. my wife is also the kind where, it is a material wife for my family ( i do not know how to put it but it is a wife material).

from there, i concentrate on my career and well... i am a happy family with two children. not to mention that i have a lousy temper and she is always patience with me and my family... it is a blessing and could be 前世修来的福...

i am not going to destroy my family unless i screw it up...

There is an imbalance now in China. Too many baby girls were killed due to the 1 child policy. Now the ladies can ask for a big dowry. Even divorcees can command a good dowry. Divorcee with a daughter will still be accepted. Divorcees with a son are shunned. 帮别人养儿子肯定不能接受。

Their thinking is the dowry money will be used in 3 common ways. Firstly, if there is a younger brother in the family, the dowry money will be saved so that he can use it to get married in future. If she is an only child, her parents may keep the money for their retirement. For those with financial means, they will pass the dowry to their daughter. They do not want their daughter to go to a new family without any cash in hand. A bride who enters a marriage with her own money is more respected by her in-laws

Ppl sure wants to chop mah. Simi $888? Those kuku go hang flower joint and ktv already throw $1000. I remember one of my friend kana $30,000. He say actually this amount is nothing. Sometimes he book those ang mo or Japanese FL overnight already pay a few thousand. $888 in today’s value is nothing.

Don’t quote me, just an observation from friends. PRC gals are smart, smart in the sense to “secure” financial from their spouse. Husband money is their money and their money is also their money, normally they will dissatisfied with their marriage when husband earning not much (unable to give them a luxury life) or husband dun have time for them. I had seen a few cuckoo cases, saw friends’ wive at hotel with other guys. My PRC colleagues will complain their husband for good for nothing etc. my take is if you able to provide them what they wants or needs then it will be a happily ever after. Nevertheless, i have also seen some good ones when the PRC wive will stand by their husband for success, depends on luck i guess.

I do not agree with dowry cos u are marrying someone u love and gaining another son in law and not selling your daughter away and never seeing. Her again.
Why stress the young couple for a huge dowry where they are just starting to make a career. Just a token will do. That’s my opinion.

Well coincidentally, the PRCs i met are usually complaining about their useless husband. no sure why is most PRC husband deemed as useless. perhaps, PRC women's cubic measurement are solely in monetary sense or only those with useless husband are out there looking for men.
