Just wanted to share my two cents on this. So, I'm fairly new here and still figuring things out, but I recently needed a 5k loan and had this dilemma too. I decided to go the broker route, specifically found this awesome mortgage broker . Turns out, it's less about not trusting mates and more about having a pro guide you through the financial maze.
