For budget cheonging in Thailand must stick to the smaller towns. Eg. Danok.
You must manage your expectations accordingly.
Why I choose budget cheonging in Danok rather than Batam?
Since Batam is so much nearer.
Take note the price for ceweks, accomodation and F&B are is not cheap in Riau Islands these days too.
When I work out the costings I get more value and better quality in Danok than Batam.
Downside is have to take a 13 hours coach journey from Singapore to South Thailand if you want to stretch your dollar.
