Clockwork picking up my soon to be MIL.
May was with me and her aunt in the welcome committee. Her mom travel very light. A cabin bag and a hand carry is all she had with her. In less than 30 minutes, we were on our way back home.
As it was a late flight, we went to the aunt's home. Mary's mother was almost in tears seeing her precious daughter in the state. She makes me promise to take good care of May from now on.
I left them to bond and left after some small talk with May. I, after all is still consider an outsider + a guy. Lucky May's cousin wasn't at home, otherwise they would have form a market.
Both our families arranged to meet for lunch. Mary's uncle tried to excuse himself, but was asked to join in as there isn't a male rep from their side. (Tell u guys later why May's father not appear till date).
I guess this is a typical get to know the in-law session. The talks are damn typical, I guess. Too many pleasantries and compliments. Both side praising the others. Hmmmmmm, but somehow May and I felt as if we are being roll onto the execution table, parents from both side demanded grandson ASAP.

Jason and Jasmine was there, because they were the "Mui Por"(Cantonese). They were the happiest, because not only they get to eat for free, they receive 2 big red packet from parents of both side.
We can only keep quiet, after all, although we are the ones behind the show, with real control, but we feel powerless. But since we are not objecting to this, we just make our own small talk. The engagement ring was collected by me on Saturday afternoon. The lunch was also an acknowledgment to our formal engagement. I happily put on the ring on May's slim hands.
With the engagement out of the way, we were to proceed to ICA to apply for approval for visitor with student VISA to get married to a Singaporean. But due to the leg injury, we will have to postpone a little. The traditional Chinese Wedding is set to sometime in March next year, after consulting some geomancer.
Nothing much happen throughout May's mother sty in Singapore, except for my mom invited her over for a house dinner. My MIL did not stayed long, she has only plan for a 5D4N stay. But, by the time she returns, instead of a cabin bag, she has now a large check in bag. Feel with local delicacy, namely Ba Kwan, Bah Kut Teh spices, durian/ coconut candies and some other souvenirs.
