9k (you rectified) a night is a bit excessive, especially if you are not those die die must have 10/10 puying. Depending on where you go, what you do, what you drink, the amount can be different. LT in BKK is 4-5k (crazy prices), plus barfine of around 600bht, and a 1k on drinks, that should be around 5-6k. All depends on your budget. I usually budget around 6k a day for everything, and that includes my makan, massages, movies and puyings (then again, this is usually in Patts).
Your hotel... no idea. Call and find out if got joiner. If you paisay even to ask this, how to be thick skin enough to bring puying back??
Communications... frankly, not easy, unless you go soi cowboy or nana. Other places may be an issue if you die die must communicate. Else, i prefer body language
Anyway, most of the time, all same same but different. You come where, you stay how long, so... just hatam something lah. Anyway, just learn one... "boom boom". That's it
