Good for point-to-point (connections risk from delays and hassle of re-check-in on transit). And add-ons (baggage, seating) best to pre-book online than at counter. Early yes, take your money upfront months ahead (nothing like well advance financing). And with promos, any deviations like changes can hurt.
Closer to departure date, differential with regular airlines narrow (or even just as expensive). Just like my mid Feb booking with AAsia for new CNX route, I saw $300 return (you can do 200 on weekdays) night before and next morning went up +10% kns.
