Anyway best for you is to land at U Tapao and enjoy Pattaya then Bangkok Airport reopen so you can take the flight from Bangkok. No need to waste another 2hr 30mins on the bus.
BTW , use Bell Bus Service if you want to go hotel-to-hotel. They will pick you up at Pattaya/Bangkok hotel doorstep and transfer at airport then to Bangkok/Pattaya hotel doorstep for only less than 300B! Contact numbers at the Pattaya thread
