I agree that it's a lesson learnt. I am trying to understand more about the workings in BKK.

To answer the Q's posted by bro's.

1. This is my second trip to visit my girl.
2. The cab driver was extremely talkative throughout the journey.
3. Cab driver even ask when I was leaving BKK.
4. The cab was the first in the queue when we were leaving after finishing our shopping.
5. When I questioned my girl (her english not good and I don't speak thai), she said the driver very talkative, she don't like.
6. I don't think my girl needs to scam me as she knows I will give her what she ask for that is within my means. (And yes, I can change my nick to CarrotHead or Robert Zai".
Walau eh first time I've heard of such a ridiculous scam.

No doubt your girl is innocent but unless she's those mousey type character she should have stood up for you about the ridiculous fare.

I've my fair share dealing with shady BKK taxis over the years. From drunk drivers to rude to blur f*ck types. Almost all types. I'll avoid taking a taxi if I can. I'd rather sweat it out on a public bus or take a train than to deal with these idiots even if you can speak Thai. I'd say a good majority of them.

On a side note it's saddening to hear THB7 bus is now THB10? Damn!
