Or you could try go to Tawan Dang (german brewery place) at param 3. Family friendly if you go early like from 6pm, with classical thai music and silly stage acts. Decent food (thai and german pork knuckles, sausages) and great freshly brewed beer for your prospective fil. Gives you time to get out ard 930pm before more contemporary live music takes over. Been there and done it (with my bkk side dish's family last month) Here's the weblink
