Friday

Giselle had told me that she would not be available in the afternoon and I assumed that she would be visiting Shane.

I took the opportunity to visit Paul in the morning.

Me: Paul, you can send the invoice to her now....

Paul: I thought that you had forgotten about this one... I was about to send it to you.... haha....

I had already paid the outstanding for the first invoice and Giselle was unaware of it. She still haven't received this 2nd invoice which was for Paul's service when he went to her office to settle the dispute with her ex boss.

Me: I didn't forget... it's just that I needed you to send it to her at the right time....

I asked him about some other stuff.

Having Paul on my side was like having an OP character in my party in an MMORPG game. I was unwilling to give up his help so easily but I need to use this wild card.

Me: I will delete away the last video if you help me....

I told him what I wanted and he laughed.

Paul: haha.... only you can think of this.... you should be a lawyer yourself....

Me: nah... I'm not that clever.... I'm just a middle aged man....

That night, I went out for my fishing session. However, I returned back at 3am and the house was dark and Giselle was already sleeping in her room.

Saturday

Before Giselle left the house to visit her parents, I asked her what time she would be finishing.

When she said that she would be back in the evening, I told her I would 顺便 cook dinner for her as well.

Later in the evening, after our dinner, she was impress with the food.

After we cleaned up the stuff, she asked me if I was going for my mahjong session. I told her that one of my friend was overseas and the game didn't happened.

As such, we sat in the living room and had some beers while we chatted. It wasn't anything in particular and just some general stuff.

I could feel that she was slowly starting to let her defence down bit by bit in my presence.

Sunday

She went out somewhere and I did not ask.




24 July
Monday

We didn't go out this morning to meet anyone.

I asked her to find out the cost for setting up the new company and tabulate them for me.

She spent the whole morning doing that and in the afternoon, we went out to Rivervale mall and had our lunch there.

After spending so many days together, we were talking more like friends now.




2.30pm

On the way back, I opened the letterbox. Paul's letter was there.

Me: hey, it's for you.

I handed it to her and she looked at the logo on the envelop. She pouted her sexy lips and sighed.

Giselle: hais... it's the invoice from Paul....

Me: what invoice? I thought you have settled with him?

Giselle: that was only for the consultation.... not for the settlement with my ex-boss....

Me: I see.... Is he charging you a lot? If so, tell me... I can try to talk to him....

Giselle: I don't think so. the first invoice wasn't too much and he said that he will give me a discount for this...

Me: then why are you grumbling?

Giselle: it's just that it's going to be taxing on my finances

me: unless you are thinking of changing your citizenship and leaving the country, you still have to pay him.

Giselle: haha.... thanks for trying to console me.

She laughed heartily now but in a short while, I knew her mood would change drastically.




We took the lift up to my place.

We entered my flat and as I was closing the door, she tore the envelope. As she was reading the letter, dismay crept into her expression.

Giselle: oh shit.....

I knew what it was about but I pretended not to know.

Me: what's up?

She did not reply and I took the invoice from her hand to look at it.

Paul had done his job well. The bill was a 5 figure sum.
