One way to test is to ask if she will accompany you to a nearby 旅游景区 which means 3hrs drive away and overnight stay for 1-2 nights. She'll get the picture cause it means overnight stay together. Then from there navigate with a chiongster mindset. They will be very clear on whether they're open to it or not.
Everything in life is transactional. You bring wife go also gotta factor in cost of shopping and dining. Can't be go holiday eat cup noodle right.
