Sure, it's not always money, sometimes it's just the feeling. My point is the same as yours too, any ML can be upped and IS being upped by a customer.
But alot of money does the trick more often than not.
I have upped some ML without extra payment caz somehow just click.. Right feeling, right time.
Have also upped some by paying market rate, and also some by over paying...
