Not everyone gets 10 or more customers a day. The average for many MLs is between 4-6 customers a day. Only the popular ones get between 8-12 customers a day.

The MLs need to pay rental of between $120-$160 a day depending on location, newness of the apartment and whether it is a shared apartment or otherwise.

Additionally, they need to spend between $350-$550 for each website they advertise with per month.

They also need to pay agent's fees, around $500 for a social visit pass, and $4000-$5000 for other types of passes (student pass, work permit). Finally, those on work permits need to pay their own monthly levies plus paying their employers compensation for not having to report to work, typically amounting to another $2000 a month.

In simple terms, every ML need more than three customer every day to break even, and start making a profit on the 4th customer.
