After that, it was a long gap until 1986 ... before the Reds became the 3rd English club to do so - beating Everton convincingly in the FA Cup Final at Wembley no less.
That 1988 wretched game against Wimbledon (or should I say Dave Beasant) was to be remembered as the Reds almost becoming the 1st English club to do the Double twice.

It pains me to say this, but the Scums snatched away that honour, as well as that of the 1st English club to do the Double thrice ... clinching it first in 1994, then in 1996 & lastly in 1999 (the luckiest 2 minutes ever known to Mankind).
Arsenal also became the 2nd English club to do the Double twice & thrice respectively ... first in 1998 & then in 2002.
Wah bro, you are really a true walking dictionary on football. Impressed.

I hope Liverpool would be able to win a couple of trophies in a season soon. I believe in Rafa and think we should be able to do it, esp now with more investment money.
