Police are investigating a street brawl involving rubber bullet guns and machetes between two groups of men in the southern Vietnamese province of Dong Nai, with one side claiming they were attacked out of a ‘good deed misunderstood.’
A CCTV footage of the fight, which looks as if it is taken from an action movie, went viral on social media on Sunday, with police in Nhon Trach District confirming they had summoned individuals involved in the physical confrontation for investigation on Monday.
The 20-second video showed that members of Ngoc’s gang were swinging their machetes at the security guards, before the latter fired their guns to chase them away.
The incident took place along the Provincial Highway 25C at around 3:30 pm on Sunday, between members of the D.A Security Service Company and a gang led by a man named Ngoc, aka Ngoc “scar,” who has been on the run since.
The group of security guards was armed with rubber bullet guns and pepper spray, while Ngoc’s team was wielding machetes.
Nguyen Huu Nghia, a security guard from D.A Company, had his right eye seriously injured and is being treated at a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.
