I think he is going through what Crouch was going through last year. Fowler has no speed but is an intelligent player who is very dangerous in the Box. Crouch has the height that needed to knock the ball down for others although sometime he look quite clumsy to me..
I think main problem is not the striker but rather the defenders or Goalkeeper.
Give our 2005 CL hero Mr Dudek a chance.... I think Reina has to take a break. It is Rotation system they claimed, so Rotate them.
