As a tourist, dun put too much effort thinking of where to change. Assume u are changing 1000 SGD and the rates different between walking distance and an hour + travel journey is 0.2, u will only lose out 200THB.

Let me give u an example, I know a few samsters who stay in Hway Kwang, took MRT and change to BTS to Chitlom, super rich. Have to pay for the both train fares and walked 10-15 mins under the hot sun to exchange money then another 10-15 mins back to the train station, just because of a few baht.
