I would sugest that for each destination there be 2 separate threads - a
meet-up thread, and an information thread. The meet-ups, which by definition
are time sensitive, could be ignored after a few weeks. The information
thread would be much more easily searchable.

If you bother to search the various threads, there are avalanche of 1 post thread for meet up way back to 2004....and nobody bother to reply...
you can always post in the various destination threads for meet ups...some successful threads are Batam and Jakarta threads...
I noticed you visited Shanghai and I am sure bro ebonkie will sure to reply you if you post there...
Moderators dun like to see many threads started for same destinations and then left alone with no replies and views...
Instead of starting a thread to tell mod your point of view, you can always post your feedaback/comment here
