It should be 40k from Harbour Bay to Kaha then to Formosa (if its me). I usually tip another 10k if the driver is nice (total 50k max). Always tell the driver where you are going,confirm the pricing and destination before getting up the taxi. I ask the driver 30k RUPIAH ok? usually end up with 40k,but i tell him i going Kaha then Formosa,40k RUPIAH ok? (make sure to mention RUPIAH) Not ok,i dont get up as there is always ojek. Rides to anywhere from Harbour Bay usually takes less than 6 mins,be it taxi or ojek.

I learn from a samster by the name Black Page here to pay only after i get out of the taxi thru the car window. Any further argument due to twisting of words from the driver side,i am already at the hotel and i need not have to heck care the driver.

Check outside your cigarette box,the one that you bought from Harbour Bay, does your box has those ugly-looking commercial printing photo that discourage smokers from smoking and telling you that you get cancer if you smoke? The one from Harbour Bay could be DFS cigarette with no photo whereas the one at 19k could be local-made cigarette. Both are original,just made in different places. The same cigarette in Sillypore DFS cost S$5 nett per pack (after you check in to custom in Harbour Front to wait for ferry).

Goodway may not be a nice hotel to stay in,try Lai Lai Hotel. They are much nearer to Gold Bird and also receive quite good commendation in this thread even tho it is a 2 star hotel. Cost around S$27 or somewhere there.

Changing your girl is fine,but i believe another bro already said this before,you will be charge for short time after your 1st shot. Which means if you book a girl for 1 million,you dont like her after 1 shot,papi or mami change you another 1 million rupiah girl,you will need to top up between 300k to 500k. If its 2 shot,most time its 500k to 800k. Different booking joint has different rules. And that is why MOST girls in MOST joints at MOST time will hurriedly make their customer/s fire off 1st shot 1st,hence the 1st shot service is better than the 2nd, 3rd and so on...

I do not ask any bros to drop their standard but more towards bringing down their expectation (especially 1st timer or newbie). It is one of my main key to having a good time in Batam and this key involve other side factors too. You need not have to comply to any of my advice tho. All i wish to say is i am one who will not go against the tide of the cheonging game,but instead will flow along with it by attempting to understand the local people's culture and mentality when it comes to entertainment and enjoyment in any foreign country.

You do not need a local line. There is always hotel reception who will gladly help you make any local indo calls within Batam. Almost every receptionist knows what most single man goes Batam for,so no need to feel shy.

As i have said this before,which newbie/s (or 1st timer) dont make mistake/s along their 1st few travels (thats if you are new) to Batam.Knowing and recognizing your mistake/s will help you grow and enjoy better in future. Refusing to admit any mistake/s only makes one stagnant ,making their future trips less enjoyable. I also make mistakes in EVERY of my Batam trip till today (its all recorded),i rectify it. Next time dont make again lor...right?

I aim mainly to provide solution/s,all above comments are just my personal perspective,others may not share the same views.

Lastly,i would like to say,let it go and move on,bro...and may you have a better next trip to Batam.
