In regards to this scam already exists since donkey years ago.
One incident at MBK area an Ah Pek (not that one from Special Forces) tried to borrow some money from me to take coach to Singapore.
Say he'll return me the money and even showed me his Singapore passport.
I almost wanted to reply him that Singapore passport is worth a lot on the black market in Thailand.
The profits gained is enough to cover new passport replacement fees plus First Class air ticket back to Singapore.
