Its coming to that time of the year again..ie..Countdown to the New Year !
Its one of the most happening events in Pattaya's calender and even the TAT touts Pattaya as one of the destinations to be if you are celebrating Christmas and New Year in Thailand.
This year the Countdown will start with the lighting up of a massive Christmas tree near Bali Hai pier. From Christmas till the New Year there will be daily events along Beach road starting from Bali Hai.
Beach road itself will be lined up like a Pasar Malam..you can enjoy game stalls like water dunking..throwing darts at balloons..lucky draws to win gold or whisky. Also many food stalls..souvenirs from all over Thailand..and everything else.I always enjoy a walk from Soi 6 heading towards Walking Street.
There will be stages set up..and several concerts will be staged daily..and many Thai famous acts will come and put up a show.
Every Year..many tourists will head to Pattaya..and if you intend on coming here book accommodations early.
New Year itself will be celebrated with a massive fireworks as in most other countries. I enjoy the countdown period as there is really a festive feeling.
For those coming for the first time...always takes the normal precautions when travelling. Travelling times between airport and Pattaya inevitably will take longer as huge hordes of tourists and even Thais descent upon Pattaya.
Girls are also aplenty now. Those that stayed at home are now here to work for the high season.Plenty for everybody. So hope to see some of you here soon..
