U should go to the big duty free shopping centre right in the middle of the border, I bought a very big remote control helicopter at only about S$50+ while in Sinkie was selling at more than S$200+ for the same model at MarinaSq, but this was already many many years back so dunno if still so cheap, no need to even chop passport but u need to exchange for a temp pass at Vn customs 
I am not a casino person becos no $$$ to gamble so I dun venture into the casinos there so far
