Paramount closing?
 
Gents...sorry to be the bearer of bad news... but I was by Paramount Shopping Center/Hotel last night and I saw a sign on the door dated 16 March 2008 stating 96% of the property owners there have to agreed to a joint sale by en bloc. I'm not totally familiar with what en bloc means but I guess this means the place will be closing once that happens, right?

en bloc means majority of d tenants had jointly agreed to sell d whole bldg to d developer lor. high possibility d bldg may well b developed for residential or commercial use, east coast still bein a prime area. furthermore with d sleazy image of paramount, im sure even if d blgd is reborn into a new shoppg ctr, d developer may face pressure fr d MP n public nt to turn it into anthr sleazy place again. i thk normally d tenants will still have like 9-12 mths to move out. Soooo .. chiong whatever u can in paramount while it lasts! :D

I asked the staff at the hotel and whilst the tenants/owners have agreed to sell the price they want is still several million $$$ more than any developer thinks is viable. So the standoff continues.

I remember when I was still in my sec sch day, I used to go to Paramount to skate.
the build next to paramount also tear down.. the LAI LAI. last time got HC and Night club.

Yeah all the vice only allowed to function in ex PM areas, like Marine Parade and Tanjong Pagar ..heheh ...

but i am quite happy for paramount if it changes.. that area is vey high quality real estate..

if PAP got problem with vice.. then should shift ALL vice to Potong Pasir :D

My company use them for corporate guest.
Last Oct already heard from the sales guy that the hong kong owners are going to sell the place. but now market so bad, dunno successful or not
