"Far" is difficult to quantify and varies from each individual. To me, Rama 3 is not far. It is easily accessible by BTS and BRT. To go Cheang Wattana is far for me but might be near to u. To go Srinagarin is near to me but might be far for u. :D

1) 0730-0930 hrs

3) 1630-2000hrs

Ratchada road traffic condition is considered good even during peak hours. Go further down to Asoke junction, that is the nightmare. I once got jammed in the traffic, after ratchada-param 9 junction, it took me 1 hour to cross petchburi road, another hour plus to reach Asoke junction. From that day I will never use that road. I will always use toll way.

2nd that.. took a taxi from thonglo to rama 9, the driver go by asoke.. damn long time and its at 10pm. And traffic make worse by a stupid bus driver trying to do a u turn in the middle of nowhere :(

From airport to hotel, its best u take taxi if are carrying luggages.
U wouldnt wanna squeeze with dozens of people in either MRT or BTS with your luggages.
