Re: Manchester United's Headliners, Articles and Rumours

Saw OGS signing autographs with fans at OT. Think he still got supporters.

https://www.espn.com/soccer/manchest...haaland-for-4m

Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has criticised the club for not taking his advice to sign Erling Haaland in 2018.

Solskjaer managed Haaland during their time together at Molde before the striker went on to join FC Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and now Manchester City.

Haaland has enjoyed a sensational debut campaign with at the Etihad Stadium and has scored 51 goals in all competitions.

The 22-year-old broke the Premier League's single-season scoring record and was named Football Writers' Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year on Friday, winning the prize by a record margin..

Speaking at "An Evening with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer" event, reported by The Athletic, the Norwegian said United missed out on the chance to sign Haaland for £4 million.

"I got in contact with United because we had this talented striker who they should have had," Solskjaer said.

"But they didn't listen, unfortunately. Four million, I asked for. But they never signed him. Four million! Don't ask [where he is now]. He's too good ..."

Solskjaer also took a swipe at the Glazer family for the way the club has been mishandled during its ownership and urged it to speed up a potential takeover of the club.

plss wake up red pussies n show u r man with strong balls who can score many goals...n for that no-brainer manager pls play yr younger more energetic players like Garnacho n pellistri who can run against opposition defences instead of those useless senior players who keep passing the ball backwards all the time.

One bad news is their wonderboy is injured n won't play tonight :(...they really need lady luck to smile on them tonight

Wow, this time round, @ChrisSutton n @lawro r 100% spot on with their predictions of a 2-0 MU win against Wolves ;):)...how do u 2 guys know that the score will be 2-0 at the end of the game ??

With the return from injury of their super-sub n young wonderboy Garnacho who runs as fast as lightning, fans shd be confident that they r back to winning ways n if he plays the remaining games as a sub, the team shd be able to clinch 4th spot on the League table, maybe even 3rd if the Toons wobble in their last few matches :)...no letting off the gas for a minute n always on the front foot playing attacking or counter-attacking football...he is really missed in the team esp the last few games when all of them were limping on the pitch but now that he is back, confidence to win matches is restored once again...he is by far the best player n goal-scorer MU now has n looks very much like the new CR7 :)

On the flip side, Antony was wasteful with his chances too. Fortunately he has learned and added assists to his game, setting up Martial for the first.

Gotta say Fred did well after coming on, and Maguire made one crucial block. Though I'm sure everyone was groaning when he was preparing to come on... :D

And of course, wonderboy Garnacho sealed it in injury time. Great run from midfield, perfect pass from Bruno and fooled the defender and keeper to score.

Everyone needs some one-on-one time with Benni McCarthy. Life would be so much easier if they were more clinical.

Sharing the same sentiments as u described ;)...except that i want to add that the young super-sub n wonderboy was able to shake off the defender who was challenging him for the ball n still able to kick n squeeze the ball past their on-rushing goalie reminiscent of past great strikers like Cr7 etc, etc...the boy is a real GEM of the team, can also be likened to Harry Kane in his goal-scoring abilities...but the club really needs more prolific players like him if they want to win the League Championship...not WW for sure who is just unable to score from wherever he is in front or near opposition goal area...this young boy is smart n confident of himself running with the ball at such high speed, he went for goal himself n did not pass the ball to WW who was kinda waiting near him knowing that prolly giving the ball to him won't go into goal, better he do it himself

Very dominant display in the first half.
Probably should be more clinical.
Antony got himself in a favorable position a few times, but couldn't take his chances.
Really wonder why he is so expensive.

But important contribution with that pass to Martial.

Was waiting for that killer second goal.....and it came very late with the introduction of Garnacho.

And this new wonderboy made an impact statement with that composed shot. Brilliant pass from Bruno.

Too ecstatic he went on to take off his jersey to show his angkong.:p
Earning himself a yellow card.

Probably ETH should have sub him in earlier. Maybe he don't want to risk Garnacho because just back from injury.

Hope can recall Amad Diallo back next season. Garnacho, Diallo, Pellistri are really making expensive Sancho Antony looks like a joke.

Red pussies needs goals. It is as simple as that.

Antony is getting to be a better n better player after each game he plays...now besides his trickery to get past defenders easily, he also got speed to race from one end of the pitch to the other to try to score goals himself or pass to his colleagues Martial to score the 1st goal for example (when he robbed the opposition player of the ball at their own goal area)...just minutes earlier he similarly ran at goal but instead of passing to Martial to score, he tried to do it himself with his left foot but missed by inches...prolly learned from this that it is better to pass the ball to his nearby colleague to score than to try to score himself...

as for the young super-sub n wonderboy Garnacho i hv said a lot abt him in the post abv...but he is silly to take off his jersey n get a yellow card for this ...wat a waste...hope he won't be suspended for the last 4 remaining games of the club because he is now the saviour of the club n they depend on him to score goals n win their remaining matches to clinch top 4 position on the league table...yes, heard Amad is also doing very well at Sunderland also scoring many goals ...yes, will be exciting to see them playing tgt with Pellestri also next season n scoring goals galore for the club

As for Antony n Sancho...the former is still way better than the latter...though much criticized by fans for his showboating n inability to score goals, i think Antony will make a good striker as time goes by with experience though he is a bit expensive as it was a panic buy by ETH his former boss at Ajax...Antony is improving game after game, his influence n help to score goals in the opposition half is greater now...a couple of shots he made would hv gone into opposition goal last night had their goalie not been alert enough...

for Sancho it is best he goes back to Dortmund from where he came from, the guy is out of his depth playing like a sch boy back-passing most of the time.. he shd be happier back there scoring goals for them...

Well, anyway, I still have my doubts about Antony.
But I hope you are right about him becoming a great player for Man U in future.

As for Sancho, very clear cut he is a flop in EPL. Time to go.

I remember a certain 18 y/o criticised for showboating and lack of end-product too... and only really came good in his third season or so. Went on to become one of the GOATs of world football.

The big difference here is, he was bought for 12+ mil and sold for 80+. Whereas we paid 80+ for Antony and hence the expectation to hit the ground running.

I guess only time will tell.

Of course, as a Man U fan (since B Robson days), would love to see Antony progress to be a useful player.

Lest not forget, he is already 23 this year. Most talented players would have peaked at this age. Unless he is late bloomer.

It was a big mistake for the baldy to buy Antony at that high price at the last minute before transfer window close...he was available at a much cheaper price earlier...but wat to do, he had no choice as he was dilly-dallying all the time whether to get Nunez n Gakpo or not due to their high price when transfer window opened n that gave Klopp the chance to steal them from under his nose...so in the end he had to panic buy Antony which is more or less the same price he had to pay had he bot the duo earlier...it is sort of a case of penny wise pound foolish... anyway those 2 now pool players r not that great players also esp gakpo but maybe still better than Antony

What is amazing is....

Mighty Blue Citizens - almost every player can score

Little Red Pussies - almost every player can score.......against them.:p

Mind you, Haaland wasn't on the scoring list....but B Silva score two.

Jack Grealish made Luka Modric look like a lost child :D

Meanwhile, Sancho playing the same position always went to sleep.:D
