I love to stay in Soi 6 guest houses. So lively, entertaining, love the noise from the street. Always requested for rooms facing the pubs, stayed in the rooms facing Soi 6/1... too quiet, become boring.

After midnight access to rooms was perfect, go in by Soi 6/1. (back door) away from all those preying eyes. Just don't leave the back door keys like I did once........ lucky had Bro Soi 6 there to help.... otherwise needed to find another room.

Ladyboys, never had any problems with them. Don't show sign of disgust and they will leave you alone.

Will be heading there early nest month, but wouldn't be staying in guest house as i wish to...

Pattaya here I come.....:D

As for the peddlers..they sell items which are useful to ladies and customers alike but many sell totally insignificant stuff.

I am in no way belittling them ok..just observations..

The Flower Seller..this lady totes Roses for 20 baht a stalk. Many times she carries a small baby with her to gain more sympathy. And they do sell a lot of Roses too. Not my favourite as they can be overly pushy.Worst thing is they not even Thai..probably from Laos or Viets.

The underwear seller..very popular with the bar girls..they seem to buy a new bra or undies every other day..or so it seems.

The T Shirt seller..ladies singlets are the single biggest seller.Cheap too from 20 baht a piece to more expensive ones. Can order in bulk and its priced reasonably.

The knick knack seller..she sells simple make up items..and accessories..useful when you need a nail cutter or mirror.

The DVD seller..sells fake DVDs for 100 baht a piece..always get their phone number..cos if the DVD is faulty can call him for a free exchange.

The Fake Watch seller..I have a regular..customers who wants to buy one I will call him. Reliable and reasonably priced. Between 700 to 1000 baht for a decent quality.

The Sunglasses Seller..very popular with farangs due to high cost back home. Cant go wrong with 100 baht shades.

The Fake Viagra Seller..avoid..avoid..they sell the fakes of the generic. Health hazard. Buy always from pharmacies.

The Outright Beggar..dont sell anything..normally show some form of physical deformity to gain pity. Common everywhere I guess.

The Book Seller..she sells dictionaries..and Thai love comics. My favourite is title..' The quick Guide to Get Rich for Bar girls ! '. I have a copy too.

The Lottery Seller..very very common..dont misunderstand why you jave stacks of same number.It means that if you buy 1 ticket you win 2/3 million..if you buy 2 tickets same number means you win double..that is if you win.

The Make Up Lady..starts her rounds in early afternoon...some do make up some do nails. Nail painting that is.

The Earrings Seller..also does piercings for 40 baht..ears..eyelids..belly buttons..all done right in front of the bars.

The Perfume Seller..cheap quality perfume from 80 baht to 100 baht a bottle.

The Trinket Seller..sells Buddhist good luck stuff.

The Souvenir Sellers..normally hails from the Northern tribes nearer to Chiangmai selling embroideries. Quite nice actually. I have one of those funny hats.

Saw your post too late. We are back in BKK now. Actually we arrived in Soi 6 yesterday morning. But my mate did not like the vibes there and the Queen Victoria Inn screwed up our booking too. They gave the 2 of us only 1 room and could not open another room as they had none available. All full booked. So we cancelled our stay there and moved over to the Fairtex Lodge. And we still had to pay 1700 baht for the BKK pickup. :mad:

We decided to do some sightseeing as it is still early. Went to the Tiger Zoo / Mini Siam / Ripleys / Go Kart and frankly we were very disappointed at these attractions. Everyone of them was in bad shape and badly in need of repairs or some touching up. The derelict state they were in was unbelievable. Our day was turning from bad to worse so we decided to cancel further plans and look for a soapy to just relax..... went to Honey Massage. Just so so and we could have much better quality and service had we remained in BKK.

Our plan for that evening was to hit Soi 6 after dinner and then to WS. We had dinner at a boutique hotel near the beach which was recommended by the Fairtex receptionist. The food was great.... Western grill and seafood. As we walk out from the restaurant we realised we were quite near to WS so we adjourned there and forgot about Soi 6. Went barhopping to several AGGs and bars there..... was not impressed at all. Ended up in Insomnia where we each took home an FL each. Both FLs agreed to LT at 4K for my mate and 3.5K for mine.... but both of them did a runner on us. Mine took off after just 1 shot.... at least my mate did better and manage to get 2 shots with his FL.

So we both decided at breakfast to cut short out stay at Patts and return to BKK.
Having heard and read so much about Patts.... we were quite disappointed with our short foray there and still prefer to have our fun in BKK.

Body massage has been discussed here many times. Bangkok win hands down , no contest or arguments here. But you tried the Indian place (many indian like to go there) instead of the other more East Asian preferred type like the Sabais or Rasputin.

Walking Street is now like Las Vegas. Fun with a lot of glitter but expensive. Which were the gogos you entered? The vibe and atmosphere alone beats anything Nana or Cowboy has to offer. There are other gogo and gogo areas you should have tried instead of heading back after only one day.

3.5-4kB is already SGD140+. Already warning signs are there for them to chop you as newbies. Like I said above , there are any other areas other than Walking Street. Beer bars alone have many gems for you to find and polish.

Your mistake is already set at the beginning. Not enough research and not seeking Soi 6 out when there. How difficult is it to take a Sangtow to Goodfellas?

But I do like your attitude , you seem open to adventures and went for it. If you do decide to revisit , I'll try to answer all your new questions.

As a sidenote , my first time to Pattaya in the late 80s was a terrible experience. Similar to your's! We were taken by taxi to a massage place and it was only so-so. Return without even staying the nite ; which is Pattaya's main attraction! Fast forward 15 years and I went again not expecting much and only staying one nite. But ........ I was hooked! :p
