Beer is by the bottle. Price of beer begins from 140 baht. Cheaper during happy hours. You can stay as long as you like provided that your drink remains unfinish. You can try out the "dead artists" bars/pubs on Sukhumvit soi 33 where Novotel Hotel is. Quite chun girls but the pubs have more expensive beers, bar fines can be expensive here, and a "dead" place catering mostly to the Japanese crowd. |

In dead artists bars, gals are "packaged" with long evening dresses and can speak english. It's part of the illusion, with expensive bar fines abt 1200 (this was few years back). Probably good for happy hours (cheaper drinks) and evening cocktails before deciding next move. Recall my past sins there a few years back.:o Nearby is a short time hotel, Peep Inn and 1/2 jap biased massage joints. Whole stretch seen better days, quiet even on friday nights (last time I passed by). That's m probably what Yokosi referred to as dead place. Next to Dali, is a good thai restaurant Oom Thong. Can sit on porch and watch how the gals get bored.:p Snapshots Bangkok Tonight - Pictures - Soi 33 (Artist soi) |

My recommendations... a small air-con (the only one) sea/thai food place along the main road (I think called Noi Seafood) or try the kaao kah moo (pig trotters rice) next door. Next to Noi Seafood is another local restaurant... entrance is small but get past that and there is large al fresco sitting area. There are of course many other local joints here. Feel free to eat & explore. Its safer than it looks. Directions: from Rachada main road (where Somboon is) walk towards the Huay Kwang junction. At junction, turn left and continue walking. This is Huay Kwang night market. Go straight, pass the 7-11, a new but small shopping complex, cross the bridge over the stinky canal and there u are. It take less than 10 minutes. If u dun like to eat alone than "ta-pao" or LT a MP or go-go girl from the many joints there. She can be your guide and you won't need to eat alone anymore! ;) Bpai teow muang Thai sanook & choke dee naa! |

Especially, the steam quid with garlic is hot & spicy. It's good to boost up your physical level for the late night exercise with your "Tirak". There are many pretty "Puying" patronise this joint too. Cheers. |
