Think it's for everyone. If just for bargirls, one basically just tell a waitress or the girl sitting with one.

For the girls only is more prevalent in Agogos...eg..ring bell buy drink for every girl on the stage. But a ring in a bar means a drink for everybody there. For me..if a customer is concerned about how much he would spend then I set a limit...ie eg. max. damage not more than 2000 baht. This protects the customer from unnecessary bill padding and he will not get a heart attack when he checks bin.:)

Different bars different rules. Agogo's pretty clear cut , ring bells means all the girls on stage at that time. Beer bars a little more complicated. Some places only the girls but traditionally it means EVERYONE sitting at the bar at that time. Very irritating when you have counted everyone so as to control your expenses and some leaches suddenly appear!
Phuket beer bars have a special max price to pay and only for the girls but then the drinks are a watered down version of some cocktail.
Thanks Bro Kawaii ; I know now to ring the bell when no one or very little people are in the bar! 555555 I actually prefer to buy bottle and allow anyone a drink from it. I dun like to keep bottles at the bar. Opened a bottle once and the mamasan rang the bell! I had a heart attack and tot I had to pay double! 555555
