How do you differentiate the test kit for HIV and syphilis. By colour?

I went to AFA and tested for HIV only. I was just wondering if they somehow took the wrong test kit... :o

I do believe and Im glad to be negative.. :D
Last time I took both test and saw the HIV and syphilis test kit looks identical in term of size and shape to me.

Now I took only the HIV test and was just thinking (just a scenario) on my way back home what if they took the wrong test kit and Im been tested on syphilis instead of HIV. ;)

So how is the test kit differ from each other?

It differs by color.

Green is for HIV, Purple is for syphilis. Search google for abott determine test

You mean one green strip shown mean HIV Negative ?
What is shown for if it is Poitive ? what will the Test Kit result display ?

we are referring to the test kit's colour.. not the result indicator. :)

If I rem correctly..

A single red line means Negative :D
Two red lines mean Positive :(

Bro AfA_hmor, can you confirm if the annonymous test by AFA detects both HIV-1 and HIV-2 subtypes?

Hi All,

I have gone to 3 Step Anonymous HIV Test at Robertson Walk to do a HIV 1/2 test. quite fast 20mins. i usually go there 2x monthly to do a check. quite cheap as well.

anyway, was also told that there's a HIV test that he is doing. dont' need 3months. anyway, was in a rush so i left will ask more when i visit him next week.

You realise he's using the same test kit that's being used at many other test sites requiring 3 months window period right?

I want to comment on 1 things.
last mth i go for screening at the kelantan lane there. all of us queue up taking temperature due to the H1 N1. but tat gu gu bastard just poke the thermometer inside every brother ear . he never use the plastic cover to chagne de, very unhygienice leh. can somebody highlight this and tell the management..... somemore they employ a face look like retarded to test our termperature, wow piang leh... i not yet screen jiu afraid of him le. somemore poke my ear so hard inside , pain leh ... kao...
