I am not sure about Polyclinics but I have ever done in a private GP clinic. The waiting time is more killing. It's about a week or two for the result to be out. Somemore it's not anonymous.

Why not do the Anonymous HIV test first then do the rest at a normal GP clinic ? Clear your most important obstacle first.

Cause might be thinking of polyclinic cuz AFA only does syphilis and hiv which the timing im ok but they doesnt do herpes etc...which dsc does but the timing crashes with my work time...so thinking can go poly clinic once.. draw big tube of blood and test everything?
Polyclinic gt do those instant 1s, similar 2 DSC's Anonymous HIV test which takes oni ~20 min. Hwevr, i personally prefer those standard 1s which takes 2 wks @ DSC. Its almost 100% accurate while the instant 1 is oni ~80%.

didnt know polyclinic got instant ones...

btw one more question...

there's left like 10 more days to my full 3 months.. u guys think if i go for checkup tml better or wait for the 10 days?

Just checked polyclinics' website..

there's HIV test and HEP B test but there's no syphilis and herpes or others? :confused:

I tot The rapid test at DSC is as good as the elisa test...???

Bro... all i know is..

Most people will develop antibodies by 3months from the exposure to the virus. That is 12 months. While in very extreme rare cases antibodies develops 3 months. So,

3 months = 99% accurate

6 months = 100% accurate

Of course you can take the test under 3 months if your very worried but the doctor mostly will ask you come back after 3 months window period is up to retest as it will be more conclusive.

ya , i also wana ask, how much it roughly cost for syphilis and gonorrehea blood test @ outside private doc.. expensive?

I don't have the breakdown of each individual test but I remember I paid about 100 over dollars about 9 years back. Tests include Hep-B, Hep-A(coz I take cockles a lot), HIV, VRDL.

According to the counsellers at AFA, I tested at 4th month and she says I don't have to go for further test. It's conclusive.

Hi everyone,

Is it true that DSC no longer sell self-test kit over ther counter? My friend went to DSC 3 weeks ago and tried to purchase but was asked to visit 2 clinics in geylang to do the HIV screening. Is it true? Thanks a million.

I think so, anyway I just went for the anonymous testing conducted by AFA at DSC on wednesday evening.;)
