As for the army it is not that they don't want to help but they are under order by the palace not to do so.It's a power struggle bro.

ya --- stay at sukhumvit better ...

this power struggle thingy is like a recurring loop . a cycle.

the only way for it to stop is that you have to choose..democracy vs monarchy

C'mon, what a lame duck of PM, govt and police. Cannot even defend airport, what more country? Last night's police blockade made a retreat from PAD.

Commentary from bkk post speaks volumes of hopeless PM

What irony. Country's in anarchy with losses mounting is big time. Electronics industry alone losing bt1bil daily. Re-think on foreign investments.. Thailand is on the map for wrong reasons. On human front, 100,000 missed flights 1st 3 days, likely to triple 300,000 if no end to this fiasco.

his is indeed a very touchy issue. Most Thai will not want to discuss with a stranger foreigner. The whole thing started with Thakxin getting overly arrogant and powerful and gaining support from majority of the rural people. The King is old and who will be taking over? The "elites" felt threatened by the fast gaining populality of Thoxin and came up with a plan to over-throw him. Discrediting him and digging out records of his "corruptions" and abuse of "power" (which are prolly true btw but who isn't guilty in the history of Thailand?) to convince the people the overthrown is necessary. Finally came the 2006 coup. It was a "peaceful" coup by the millitary and they thought thats it for Thoxin's reign but who knows "the people" still elected Thoxin's "puppet", "The chef".
The "elites" were horrified and concluded the majority of "the people" are "navie" (aka stupid) and "easily suay with money" (which is kinda true since current "terrorist" group are paid to be there as well) and shouldn't be allowed to vote. Thus the continuous effort to discredit the "government" (aka PPP).

The present leaders of the "terrorist" group are no siants themselves. One was an ex-leader of "the turks" during the massacre of "students" now turned holy man and the other was an ex-Thoxin ally turned enemy because "bro won't help me become billionaire!". So why aren't the police and army doing anything about the present "terrorist situation"? One claimed "Oh! We shouldn't use violence against

"Oh! We shouldn't use violence against peaceful protestors!" while the other claimed "Oh! We don't interfere with polictics!" So who are the "elites"?

You go think about that.

puppet or no puppet, fear of losing power is one thing but allowing havoc to actually harm or cripple your own economy even at the expense of gaining power but yet without any ideal "elite" person to take over is another issue

even if tat guy is old and his son is a useless playboy bum (from wat i heard), then you cant blame those tat support the capable those tat actually help stimulate their economy. Would u agree with me that Thailand enjoy the most florishing economy only in Thaksin's era but their economy went down ever since after he was removed from power regardless of corruption or eating money, he actually did something to help the poor...

Bro naemlo, there should be a powerful person behind PAD. All the PAD leaders is just puppets. The person behind is one of the richest in the world which most of the thais respect most. He scared if the PPP goverment goes its way, he will lose his position one day. :D:D:D

without such a strong " mountain" behind them, you think they dare to go
to take the airport? and with this backing,
the army and police are also not doing anything to the PAD people.

Well said bro.

- Police forced to cancel checkpoints on roads to Suvarnabhumi airport
- PAD driving away police at Suvarnabhumi, one policeman abducted
- Anti-government protesters abduct police officer
- U-tapao airport's director askes for cooperation
You guys are too engrossed liao. This is Thailand. Let Thais handle their own shit. I don't care who is in power. They can put Mickey Mouse as the prime minister for all I care.

Initially Survarnabhumi Airport was supposed to re-open on 29th Nov 6pm onwards. Looking at the current situation. Fat hope! Sibei sian liao. Just want to go home.

Last night was watching CCTV 4 and the Chinese government is planning to use military planes to transport their citizens home.

What has the SG government done for its citizens? No sound no colour. Didn't even mention want to activate SAF's C-130 lorry plane to put to good use. KNN when Indonesia have riots, send money. Other countries have natural disasters they send money and manpower. Only want to hao lian to the world.

I'm going to call the Singapore Embassy in BKK to F them to activate SAF lorry planes if airport is not re-opened by tomorrow. KNN sibei disappointed. We serve the nation. This is how they take care of us. Even communist country take care of its citizens better. Pui!

This is the best SG government could do. Still want you to pay for SIA commercial flights. KNN. Pay And Pay!

MFA Spokesman's Comments in response to media queries on the situation in Bangkok
In response to media queries on whether arrangements were being made to move Singaporeans stranded in Bangkok as a result of the recent airport closures back to Singapore, the MFA Spokesman said:

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been coordinating closely with Singapore Airlines on the possibility of the Airline mounting additional flights.

The Ministry has worked with Singapore Airlines to arrange two special commercial flights from U-Tapao International Airport (near Pattaya, approximately 140 km from Bangkok) on 29 and 30 November 2008. These flights are planned to depart U Tapao at 1400 hrs and 1900hrs.

Singapore Airlines is also considering further flights next week if there is demand.

The Ministry also notes that SilkAir will be operating two additional flights tonight and again tomorrow afternoon from Phuket to assist those who have made their way there to return to Singapore.

Singaporeans who wish to travel via these special commercial flights should make their bookings with the Singapore Airlines Office in Bangkok at +66 2353 6000 or Singapore Airlines Reservations in Singapore at +65 6223 8888.

Separately, Tiger Airways will also be mounting weekend flights from Phuket to Singapore."

Didn't quite believe deadline then, with mob rule very much in place. No game plan, you can give as many ultimatums -but how you deliver? Was booked on Swissair last night, so fate sealed with cancellation/refund day before.

So exhausted your ammo liao?:p Hope you fly the coop soon. Next hope is 5/12, king's birthday.. some talk by chamlong of crisis ending by then.
