Now the protestors are having a concert at Suvarnabhumi airport. There is really a huge mob at the airport. Given this is Thailand, i will not be surprised if this drag out for quite some time even though eventually they do have to open the airport.

For your info, Thaksin is no saint either. He is corrupted and he pays people to shoot or bomb the PAD as well. The king and the military dislike Thaksin but they cannot do anything because Thaksin is very good at the game. He bought the hearts of the rural by giving them money, loans and even land. But he abuse his power openly giving his family and his huge financial benefits. He can fool the rural people but not the educated in Bangkok which is why the middle class people dont like him.

If Thaksin really loves Thailand, he would have asked his supporters to step down for the good of Thailand but it seems that neither side is going to give in and this will certainly not end fast.

All the recent PMs are forced to step down only after months, even if they do step down , does the PAD have a capable man ready for the job?

If not , what makes them think they can do a better job forcing the PM in power to step down?

Unless they have someone who is able to lead the country and bring the economy up for thailand like thaksin , I feel they should end their pathetic campaigns and losing their own support/popularity of the people.

Frankly even if they can put someone to be the PAD, what is to stop this person from profiting from the the position? Just like Taiwan's Chen Shui Bian. He is also famous for being uncorrupted before becoming president.

The only reason PAD (substitute any opposition name) want to get power is to get more money! The people are just tools.

Better have Thaksin then these bandits. Thaksin steered Thailand out off the Asean Financial Crisis, served longer and better than any other Thai PMs, these bastards are just hurting the entire country with utter disregard to the economy, the people and the King.
The current government system set up after the coup by the bastard Army retards have just acted like pussies. They (the Army whore generals) are the real bastards responsible for this mess.
They are the ones who should be held responsible and be judged!

I was due at Bangkok this afternoon at 2pm where she is supposed to meet me at the airport and take a leisurely drive back together to province and have dinner with the family.

I am stuck in Singapore now because of the airport closure - and very depressed. The both of us have planned this for such a long time and this had to happen - it makes me lose faith in the genuine intention of Thai people and their plans for the country. Don't they realise it's hurting their land more than it's helping it?

my advise is to move on .. get a full refund and plan for the next trip ..
i just called jetstar asia and u r allowed to change ur flight plans or get a full refund if flights r cancelled ...
this will based on day to day situation in bkk ...

thai ppl in general r kind but they lack the ability to distinguish between what's right and wrong ... what's real and fake ...
and thailand will never have good leaders becoz those who r capable will never want to step out and help the country ..
