I should be there for Loy Krathong although a snap trip to satisfy my thai urges may be anytime! Pattaya to me now is like a retreat. Its a little boring to me now but i am familar to the place so its like a place to relax rather than cheong. My last trip I cheong nearly everynite of my 10 days there and came back totally exhausted. Getting old lah.......... |
Re: Pattaya
haha yea agree with you Patts really a good place to laid back & chill out esp. if you're alone with everything within walking distance or nearby...cheap too if you avoid walking street and just aim for those bar-beers & FLs at the discos at xyzte & hollywood:D

http://www.flippergroup.com/flipper_house/index.html If you feeling adventurous I would advise best is that you book a hotel thru internet for first day and then recce around other hotels, ask the recep you wanna have a look inside their rooms and then book for the rest of your other days once you like it...or simply just go straight there, recce around and then book your hotel there...provided if its not peak season like Songkran:p |

There is another Moo Ka Ta just after Big C. For those that know the place , take the sangtow to as far up north as you can by Sai2 and drop near Big C. Walk upwards towards the Petrol(Shell?) station and turn right into the lane after the Petrol Station. Walk down about 200m and the 'FISH' signboard will appear on your right. Similar prices to Ninja but I personally think Ninja is better. Only advantage is that this place is easier to get to and back as well as being closer to the drinking places. If you do not turn into the soi and keep walking up Sai2 , you will walk upon Drinking Street about 1km after the Petrol Station. If you want cheap , 35B Kow men kai, padthai or Kow Kar Moo etc, there is one food area along the way ; i think just on the steps of a 7-11 or family mart. Drinking Street is just like another beer bar area much like Soi7/8 or Soi Seadragon in Patong. But is new and the prices are much cheaper than Soi Walking. Some gems here and I met a harsip harsip thai/sg girl. :D |

Re: Pattaya
No trip for me till June but that is to AC. Need to recharge as well as find Vitamin M! :D
There are lots to do even alone in Pattaya. I normally schedule with friends half the trip and alone the other half during Songkran and Loy Krathong. When alone , its good time to explore coz there are no expectations from your frends. Since you're no longer a newbie to the place , you can take your time to find some gems away from Soi Walking but it'll always be there as a back up in case you want instant kopi. :D LK Metro now has 4 or 5 agogos and the surronding areas boast the beerbars ; like Soi Diana and Soi Lengkee. Walk further up towards the disco Xycte and you have even more bars t explore ; although the concentration is less. Check out Bliss BJ Bar and Buffalo bar so Sai 3. Try Drinking Street also near Big C, a plesent surprise for me last time. As for food , go for the Oishi group jap buffet ; I think called Shabuhsi. Individual steamboat ; less than 200B. The place at Central 6th floor is always packed but there is another on at the Big C. Not sure about seafood as I normally eat cheap in Pattaya. The Jontiem ones along the beach are famous but some are not cheap. Can pick up a girl and ask her to bring. Last time I did that , she brought me to Lobster Pot ; expensive and food was very ordinary , not worth it I normally spend at least 6 hours at VIP suana ; boss there was from HK and does not allow hanky panky on his premises. Very good massages and the steam/hot stones/tub usage is 150B per entry with free with water melon and water to drink. Massage is seperate , off course. A good place also to meet people as normal and bar girls as well as tourist and expat use the place. Its in the middle of Soi 10 |

It is tucked behind fruit and veg stalls and you could easily walk passed it if you did not know if it was there. Turn in to Pattaya Klang from Second Road and then head north, passed the entrance to August Suites on your left. The food court is on your left, just before you come to the first left hand turn off of the main road. There are about eight or ten different stall, all serving up fresh meat and seafood dishes which you can choose and ask them to cook in whichever way you want it. After trying it, you will leave Walking street seafood restaurants for good. Also try the slice mango on coconut rice outside, its fantastic, if your stomach still have any space :D Here a map and photo guide of the entrance via the fruit stalls: http://www.pattayaphotoguide.com/?2PxRU8jskcZADDGA Cheers fellow sg pattaya cheongsters! |
